Family and Community Liaison - Intern
Job Purpose:
Under the direct supervision of an assigned Administrator, links students and their families with community resources by acting as an organizational contact person for community outreach as well as assisting in the improvement of the attendance in parent 2 village; performs other related duties as assigned.
Responsibilities & Duties:
Make phone calls and virtual visits as assigned to identified students and families.
Assist program coordinators in communicating with the parents of students who are having difficulties and academic problems in school.
Perform community outreach for the purpose of obtaining donations of goods and services for students and their families.
Link students and their families with community resources.
Acknowledge community resources of donations, etc.
Gather records and write reports based on data pertaining to Parent 2 Village programming.
Help with coordination of parent advisory activities.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills/Qualifications:
Computer and software skills: You will need to familiarize yourself with Salesforce. You should be comfortable using Google Suite, Microsoft Office, email, and the internet. You might need to be familiar with QuickBooks.
Multitasking skills: You should be able to juggle several demands at once.
Verbal and written communication skills: These are essential. You should have a solid command of the English language and possess good proofreading skills.
Interpersonal skills: You'll be working with others, including clients and other office personnel. Good manners and a calm demeanor can be very important.
Organizational skills: You must be detail-oriented and organized, able to locate a document or recall protocol at a moment's notice.
Decision-making skills: You'll often find yourself handling several tasks almost simultaneously, so you should be able to prioritize and make time-effective decisions. A client might want an appointment right away, but does he really have an emergency or can it wait a few days?
