What is a mentor2youth tutor?
Mentor2Youth exists to bridge opportunity gaps. One of the most vital engineers is our environmental engineers. they understand the impact of the bridge and ensures this impact does not negatively affect the environment. Our tutors work the front lines, they deliver impact to kids across our county on a daily basis.
purpose

duties
Educates students by planning and developing course of study according to curriculum guidelines; school district and state requirements.
Engage in academic activities with selected students one-on-one.
Tutors will collaborate with the school supervisor and staff members to assess the student’s needs and how best to address them.
Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy educational environment by establishing, following, and enforcing standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.
Keeps parents informed by maintaining records of academic performance, attendance, and social acclimation; reporting on all elements of student development at parent conferences as needed.
responsibilities
Tutors must commit to working at least one semester and are encouraged to stay longer if possible.
Consistent, ongoing support is necessary for the children and teachers with whom we work. All tutors are expected to honor the term of their commitment and must give two weeks notification to the teacher and the program director if resigning as a tutor.
Tutors must provide their own transportation.
Unexcused and excessive absences or unsatisfactory performances will be grounds for dismissal.
Tutors are required to complete an initial training session before becoming hired

Classroom Management, Verbal Communication, Resolving Conflict, Presentation Skills, Self-Motivated, Motivating Others, Listening, Deals with Uncertainty, Objectivity, Confidentiality, Prior experience working with children preferred, but not necessary to apply.
