Overview

Mentor2Youth offers programs catered towards teens where they are afforded opportunities to make a real difference in their communities (school and neighborhood). These programs provide a conduit for youth to have a voice amongst community leadership, engage in self-led civic activities, community service projects and learn about business entrepreneurship through participation in our “Making of an Entrepreneur

Core Objectives

-          Students participate in a 2-3 community service projects

-          Student participate in Youth Council activities

-          Students participate in U-M Adventures Leadership Course

-          Students complete “Making of an Entrepreneur” Course

-          Students participate and lead a Project Citizen

Outcomes

-          Students improve leadership skills

-          Youth understand how to advocate for themselves

-          Youth learn project management skills

-          Youth understand importance of community service

-          Youth develop a business idea

Measurement Tools

Pre and Post surveys will be utilized in addition to assessment to ascertain level of knowledge retained by students.
